Name: Cyrtocidium Tom Mirenda
Parents: Oncidium kegeljani × Cyrtochilum macranthum
Breeder: Ecuagenera
RHS Registration: 11/09/2025
Description: Cyrtocidium Tom Mirenda is an intergeneric orchid hybrid resulting from the cross between Oncidium kegeljani (female parent) and Cyrtochilum macranthum (male parent). The hybrid was registered with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) by the Ecuadorian orchid company Ecuagenera.
The plant combines morphological characteristics of both parent species from the Andean regions of South America. It produces robust pseudobulbs with strap-shaped, bright green leaves. Long, often arching inflorescences develop from the base of the mature pseudobulbs. The flowers are distinguished by pronounced yellow and brown tones, which are characteristic of both Oncidium kegeljani and the large-flowered species Cyrtochilum macranthum, combined with wavy petals and a complexly shaped lip.
