Name: Ceratostema zamorana M.M.Jiménez & Vélez-Abarca
Etymology: The artepitheton zamorana refers to the province of Zamora-Chinchipe in Ecuador.
First described: 2021 by M. M. Jiménez and Vélez-Abarca.
Origin/Distribution: Ecuador.
Location/Habitat: Epiphytic on branches and trunks in pre-montane forests along the Zamora River, at approximately 890–930 m above sea level. We recommend temperate to warm conditions of approximately 17–26 °C, high humidity, good air circulation, and bright, filtered light.
Description and notes: This rare Ericaceae forms slender shoots with small leathery leaves and tubular flowers. A mounted culture with some sphagnum or a very airy, humic substrate best suits its epiphytic growth habit. Keep evenly moist, use soft water, and avoid both waterlogging and prolonged dry periods.
