Description

Cattleya quadrícolor #3 x #2

Name: Cattleya quadricolor #3 × #2

Parents: Two selected clones of Cattleya quadricolor; this is an intraspecific cross.

Origin/Distribution: The species is native to Colombia.

Location/Growing Conditions: We grow the seedlings in intermediate to warm conditions at approximately 17–27 °C, in very bright light with good air circulation. The coarse orchid potting medium is watered regularly during the growing season and allowed to dry out thoroughly afterward.

Description and Notes: Cattleya quadricolor is known for its rather closed, tulip-like flowers and multicolored lip. The #3 × #2 cross combines two selected clones; seedlings may vary in color and form.
