Description

Bulbophyllum recurvilabre

Name: Bulbophyllum recurvilabre Garay

Etymology: The genus name Bulbophyllum means “bulb leaf.” The specific epithet recurvilabre refers to the recurved lip.

First described: In 1999 by Leslie A. Garay.

Origin/Distribution: Philippines.

Location/Habitat: Epiphytic in warm lowland forests up to about 500 m. We recommend temperatures of approximately 21–30 °C, high humidity, bright filtered light, and good air movement.

Description and Notes: A prolific-flowering species whose pseudobulbs can bloom more than once. Therefore, do not remove old bulbs as long as they remain firm and healthy. A shallow pot or basket with a coarse, airy, slightly moisture-retentive medium works well.
