Name: Bulbophyllum Louis Sander

Parents: Bulbophyllum longissimum × Bulbophyllum ornatissimum

Registration: Historical orchid hybrid; registered in 1936 by Sander, St Albans.

Location/Cultural conditions: We grow Bulbophyllum Louis Sander in warm to intermediate conditions at approximately 18–28 °C, with high humidity, bright filtered light, and good air circulation. We keep the airy substrate consistently slightly moist.

Description and notes: This extraordinary hybrid combines two long-flowered Bulbophyllum species and develops striking inflorescences with very long, narrow segments. Its creeping growth habit requires sufficient space; wide baskets or shallow trays are particularly suitable.
