Name: Rhyncholaeliocattleya Cordelia
Parents: Rhyncholaelia digbyana × Cattleya intermedia
Registration: The historic primary hybrid was registered in 1906; George Lindsay Holford is credited as the breeder.
Etymology: Rhyncholaeliocattleya refers to hybrids within the Cattleya alliance involving Rhyncholaelia; Cordelia is the grex name.
Location/Growing Conditions: We grow this hybrid in intermediate to warm conditions at approximately 16–28°C, in very bright conditions and with good air circulation. While new shoots and roots are developing, we water regularly and allow the coarse, airy potting medium to dry out slightly between waterings.
Description and Notes: Rhyncholaeliocattleya Cordelia combines the heavily fringed lip and fragrance of Rhyncholaelia digbyana with characteristics of Cattleya intermedia. The young plants in the 5.5 cm pot are grown from seed and may vary individually in flower shape and markings.
