Name: Anthurium villenaorum
Etymology: The genus name Anthurium is derived from the Greek words "anthos" (flower) and "oura" (tail), referring to the spadix-like inflorescence. The specific epithet honors Janette Karol Villena Bendez and Bruno Villena.
Origin/Distribution: Peru.
Location/Habitat: This species originates from moist subtropical forests in the Moyobamba region, where it grows at elevations of approximately 800 to 1,000 m. For cultivation, bright to semi-shaded conditions without direct midday sun, increased humidity, and temperatures of about 18–27 °C are suitable.
Description and Notes: This compact-growing species develops dark green, velvety leaves with strikingly light veining. We recommend a coarse, airy aroid substrate that is kept consistently slightly moist without remaining permanently wet. Good air circulation supports healthy roots and leaves.
