Name: Anthurium sp. nov. ‘Cisneros’
Etymology: The genus name Anthurium is derived from the Greek words anthos (“flower”) and oura (“tail”). ‘Cisneros’ is the horticultural designation for this plant, which has not yet been reliably assigned to a described species.
Origin/Distribution: Ecuador.
Location/Growing conditions: As its botanical classification has not yet been conclusively determined, we grow the plant under generally proven conditions for moisture-loving anthuriums: bright to partial shade at around 18–27 °C, with high humidity and good air circulation. The substrate should be coarse, rich in humus, and very well aerated, and should be kept evenly slightly moist.
Description and notes: This plant is grown under the working designation Anthurium sp. nov. ‘Cisneros’. We deliberately refrain from assigning it to a species without sufficient evidence and do not treat the designation as a formally published botanical name.
