Name: Anthurium ‘Silver Blush’
Etymology: The genus name Anthurium is derived from Greek and refers to the characteristic inflorescence. The cultivar name ‘Silver Blush’ refers to the striking silver markings on the leaves.
Description and notes: Anthurium ‘Silver Blush’ is a decorative form of Anthurium cultivated for its foliage, with heart-shaped, dark green leaves and particularly pronounced silver venation. Young leaves may initially show warmer tones and develop their typical high-contrast markings as they mature. We grow the plant in bright to partial shade, avoiding intense direct midday sun. A coarse, highly airy aroid substrate with bark, mineral components, and moisture-retaining elements keeps the vigorous roots well-aerated. The substrate should remain evenly lightly moist; we consistently avoid waterlogging. High humidity and good air circulation promote even growth. We recommend warm to intermediate temperatures of around 18–28 °C.
