Name: Anthurium ‘rubioanum’ hort.
Etymology: The genus name Anthurium is derived from the Greek words anthos and oura. The origin of the name “rubioanum” has not been definitively determined for the material offered.
Origin: Ecuador.
Location/Cultivation conditions: We cultivate the plant in intermediate to warm conditions at approximately 18–27 °C, with high humidity, good air circulation, and bright to semi-shaded light. We keep the coarse, airy aroid substrate consistently slightly moist.
Description and notes: Particularly striking is the heavily textured leaf surface, which is reminiscent of crocodile skin. As the botanical status of the name for this plant material has not been definitively clarified, we have omitted a formal author citation and unverified synonyms.
