Name: Anthurium rivulare Sodiro
Etymology: The genus name Anthurium is derived from the Greek anthos ("flower") and oura ("tail"). The specific epithet rivulare translates to "growing by brooks or riverbanks."
First description: 1901 by Luis Sodiro.
Origin/Distribution: Ecuador and Colombia.
Location/Habitat: Hemiepiphytic to lithophytic in humid tropical habitats, including near bodies of water. We cultivate this species in intermediate to warm conditions at approximately 18–27 °C, high humidity, good air circulation, and bright to semi-shaded, indirect light. We keep the coarse, airy substrate consistently slightly moist and avoid waterlogging.
Description and notes: Anthurium rivulare develops glossy, heart-shaped leaves on long petioles. The venation gives the leaf blade a clear, elegant structure. Consistent water supply and good root aeration support vigorous growth.
