Description

Anthurium rimbachii (syn.: falcatum) 'Ecuagenera'

Name: Anthurium rimbachii Sodiro

Synonyms: Anthurium falcatum Sodiro; Anthurium bricarellii Sodiro

Etymology: The specific epithet rimbachii honors the German botanist and zoologist August Rimbach, who worked in Ecuador for many years.

Origin/Distribution: Ecuador and Colombia.

Location/Habitat: A climbing hemiepiphyte in moist tropical to premontane forests. We cultivate this species in warm to intermediate conditions at around 18–27 °C, with high humidity, good air circulation, and bright, indirect light.

Description and notes: Anthurium rimbachii develops elongated to narrower leaves and a climbing habit. A coarse, airy aroid mix and a suitable climbing support promote vigorous growth. We keep the offered ‘Ecuagenera’ line evenly and lightly moist.
