Name: Anthurium reflexinervium cf. (Aff)
Etymology: The genus name Anthurium derives from the Greek words anthos (“flower”) and oura (“tail”). The specific epithet reflexinervium refers to the characteristic backward-curving, or reflexed, venation. The abbreviations cf. and Aff indicate that the identification of the offered material has not yet been fully confirmed.
Origin: Peru.
Location/Habitat: The comparative taxon Anthurium reflexinervium is known from humid montane habitats in Peru. We grow this form under intermediate conditions at around 16–25 °C, with high humidity, good air circulation, and bright to partial shade. The coarse, airy substrate should remain evenly and lightly moist.
Description and notes: The offered material is similar to Anthurium reflexinervium, but has narrower, less strongly wavy foliage than the typical form. In view of these differences, we continue to list the plant with a taxonomic caveat and refrain from assigning it definitively to the species.
