Description

Anthurium reflexinervium

Name: Anthurium reflexinervium Croat

Etymology: The genus name Anthurium is derived from the Greek words for "flower" and "tail". The specific epithet reflexinervium means "with reflexed nerves".

First description: In 1991 by Thomas B. Croat.

Origin/Distribution: Peru.

Location/Habitat: Epiphytic on rocky slopes in humid forest zones near the Río Huallaga, at an altitude of approximately 600–2,000 m. In cultivation, we recommend approximately 17–27 °C, high humidity, and bright, filtered light.

Description and notes: The long leaves possess an unusually wavy, downward-pointing venation and their habit is reminiscent of a bird's-nest fern. A coarse, airy substrate, consistent light moisture, and good air circulation promote healthy growth.
