Name: Anthurium polyschistum R.E.Schult. & Idrobo
Etymology: The specific epithet polyschistum means "many-split" and describes the palmately divided leaf blade.
First description: In 1959 by Richard Evans Schultes and Jesús M. Idrobo.
Origin/Distribution: From the western Amazon region of Colombia and Ecuador to Peru, Brazil, and Bolivia.
Location/Habitat: Mostly terrestrial creeping, rarely hemiepiphytic, in warm, humid tropical forests at elevations of about 100–1,500 m. We recommend 20–29 °C, high humidity, and bright, filtered light.
Description and notes: This relatively delicate species has palmately divided leaves with numerous narrow leaflets. Its creeping growth habit is suitable for wide pots or shallow planters. Keep a humus-rich, loose, and well-drained aroid substrate evenly slightly moist. Good air circulation prevents problems in dense cultivation.
