Name: Anthurium cf. pendens
Etymology: The genus name Anthurium combines the Greek words for "flower" and "tail," referring to the characteristic spadix. The Latin specific epithet pendens means "hanging." The abbreviation "cf." indicates that the plant is being compared to Anthurium pendens, but its identification has not been conclusively confirmed.
Location/Cultivation requirements: We recommend a bright location without direct midday sun, high humidity, and continuous, gentle air movement. The plant can be cultivated in warm to intermediate conditions at approximately 18–27 °C. A coarse, airy, and well-draining substrate is suitable for its epiphytic growth; the root zone should remain slightly moist but never stay permanently wet.
Description and notes: This decorative plant is striking due to its long, narrow, and distinctly pendulous leaves. As the classification as Anthurium pendens is not conclusively confirmed, we intentionally describe it as a comparative form. A hanging basket, a wooden crate, or an elevated position provides the foliage with sufficient space. We use the softest water possible and allow the surface of the substrate to dry out slightly before the next watering.
