Description

Anthurium papillilaminum XS

Name: Anthurium papillilaminum Croat

Etymology: The specific epithet papillilaminum refers to the finely papillose structure of the leaf blade.

First description: 1986 by Thomas B. Croat.

Origin/Distribution: Panama.

Location/Habitat: Terrestrial in warm, humid lowland forests. We cultivate the young plants at approximately 20–28 °C, high humidity, good air circulation, and bright, indirect light. We keep the coarse, humus-rich aroid substrate consistently slightly moist.

Description and notes: Anthurium papillilaminum is particularly sought after for its exceptionally dark, velvety leaves. In young plants, the typical dark coloration and leaf proportions continue to develop as the plant grows.
