Description

Anthurium pandurilaminum

Name: Anthurium pandurilaminum Croat

Etymology: The genus name Anthurium means “tail flower”; pandurilaminum describes the fiddle- or trumpet-shaped leaf blade.

First described: 2019 by Thomas B. Croat.

Origin/distribution: Ecuador.

Location/habitat: Hemiepiphytic in warm, moist lowland forests on the Pacific side of the Andes. Bright, filtered light, high humidity, and temperatures of around 20–28°C are suitable.

Description and notes: The species develops trumpet- to arrow-shaped, distinctly veined leaves. Young leaves unfold lighter and more delicate; mature leaves become firmer and dark green. Keep evenly slightly moist in a coarse, airy aroid substrate and avoid waterlogging.
