Description

Anthurium pallidiflorum cf.

Name: Anthurium pallidiflorum, Engler 1898
Synonyms: Anthurium annulatum, Sodiro 1901
Anthurium lorifolium, Sodiro 1901
Anthurium spruceanum, Engl. 1905
Etymology: pallidiflorum = with pale flower
cf. = confer (compare), differs morphologically from the nominal form despite very high similarity.

Origin: Ecuador
Habitat: epiphytic, tropical, warm humid at approx. 250m altitude, no further information
Notes: This Anthurium produces beautiful elongated and velvety leaves. When sunlight hits the leaves, they show a stunning shimmering display. Mature leaves become slightly pleated along the midrib.
With high humidity and plenty of water, Anthurium pallidiflorum can also be cultivated mounted. This species should definitely be cultivated in a hanging basket.
