Description

Anthurium offolterianum (spec. nov.)

Name: Anthurium offolterianum (spec. nov.)
Synonyms: none known
Etymology:
offolterianum = after Enid Offolter, an Araceae collector in Florida, U.S.A.
Origin: not specified
Habitat: not specified
Notes: Anthurium tremulum has been described as highly variable in the past. It is now evident that not all plants sold as Anthurium tremulum, which are closely resembling the same species, are also Anthurium tremulum.
The species offered here was sold as Anthurium tremulum for many years; it has now been identified as a new species, described as Anthurium offoltierianum, and the description is now awaiting publication.
