Anthurium microphyllum

Name: Anthurium microphyllum (Hook.) G. Don

Synonyms: Podospadix microphylla (Hook.) Raf.; Pothos microphyllus Hook.

Etymology: The genus name Anthurium means “tail flower”; the epithet microphyllum means “small-leaved”.

Origin/Distribution: Brazil.

Location/Habitat: A terrestrial species from moist tropical locations. Bright, filtered light, good air circulation, and warm-intermediate temperatures of around 18–27°C are suitable.

Description and Notes: A compact, robust Anthurium species with delicate foliage. We recommend a coarse, airy aroid substrate, consistent light moisture, and protection from waterlogging and cold drafts.
