Name: Anthurium magnificum Linden ‘Silver’
Etymology: The species epithet magnificum means “magnificent” or “splendid.” ‘Silver’ refers to the selection’s particularly silvery, high-contrast patterning.
Origin/Distribution: Colombia.
Location/Cultivation Conditions: We grow the plant in intermediate to warm conditions at around 18–27 °C, with high humidity, good air circulation, and bright, indirect light. We keep the coarse, humus-rich, airy aroid substrate evenly and slightly moist.
Description and Notes: Anthurium magnificum ‘Silver’ develops large, velvety leaves with particularly bright, silvery-looking venation. Coloration and contrast can vary considerably depending on the plant’s age and the light. The angular petioles characteristic of Anthurium magnificum are clearly visible on more mature plants.
