Description

Anthurium magnificum cf.

Name: Anthurium magnificum cf.

Etymology: The genus name Anthurium is derived from the Greek words anthos and oura. magnificum means “magnificent” or “splendid.” The abbreviation cf. indicates that the identification is not fully certain.

Origin: Colombia.

Location/Growing conditions: We grow this form in intermediate to warm conditions at around 18–27 °C, with high humidity, good air circulation, and bright, indirect light. We keep the coarse, humus-rich aroid substrate evenly and slightly moist.

Description and notes: Large, velvety leaves with prominent pale veins and a metallic-looking sheen make this plant particularly attractive. As the plant matures, its sturdy petioles and large leaf blades need ample space.
