Name: Anthurium luxurians Croat & R.N.Cirino
Etymology: The Latin specific epithet luxurians means “luxuriant” and refers to the impressive foliage.
First described: 2005 by Thomas B. Croat and R. N. Cirino.
Origin/Distribution: Colombia.
Location/Habitat: The species grows terrestrially in very moist locations, often near flowing water. We recommend warm conditions of around 20–28 °C, high humidity, gentle air movement, and bright, filtered light.
Description and Notes: Young leaves emerge bright, bronze to reddish, and later darken to a deep green. The highly bullate, faceted leaf surface reflects the light impressively. This S-plant is planted in coarse, humus-rich, and well-ventilated aroid substrate and kept evenly slightly moist. Avoid waterlogging as well as prolonged dry periods.
