Name: Anthurium lutheri cf. ‘Ecuagenera’
Etymology: The genus name Anthurium derives from the Greek words anthos and oura. lutheri honors the American botanist Harry E. Luther. The qualifier cf. indicates that the identification is not entirely certain; ‘Ecuagenera’ refers to the selection offered.
Origin: Northwestern South America.
Location/Growing conditions: We grow this form in intermediate to warm conditions at around 18–27 °C, with high humidity, good air circulation, and bright, indirect light. A coarse, airy aroid mix should be kept evenly and slightly moist.
Description and notes: The long, narrow, drooping leaves are particularly striking. Growing it elevated gives the foliage plenty of room. Because it differs slightly from the typical appearance, we list this selection with the qualifier cf.
