Name: Anthurium ‘longistrorsum’ hort.
Etymology: The genus name Anthurium is derived from the Greek words anthos ("flower") and oura ("tail"). The name "longistrorsum" is used for this plant material, but it is not treated here as a definitively resolved botanical species name.
Origin: Ecuador.
Location/Cultivation requirements: The original material is associated with moist tropical forests of the Pacific Andes. We cultivate the plant in intermediate to warm conditions at approximately 18–27 °C, with high humidity, good air circulation, and bright to semi-shaded light. A coarse, airy aroid substrate should be kept consistently slightly moist.
Description and notes: This climbing form of Anthurium develops large, heart-shaped leaves with prominent primary veins radiating from the base of the leaf. The inflorescences can develop a long spadix that appears dark reddish to violet. As the taxonomic classification of the material cultivated under "longistrorsum" is not definitively resolved, we have omitted a formal author citation or unverified synonyms.
