Description

Anthurium longissimilobum 'Guayzimi'

Name: Anthurium longissimilobum Croat ‘Guayzimi’

Etymology: longissimilobum refers to the particularly long leaf lobes. ‘Guayzimi’ designates the offered origin or cultivar.

Origin: The species is known from Peru; the name ‘Guayzimi’ refers to a location in southeastern Ecuador.

Location/Cultivation Conditions: We cultivate the plant in intermediate to warm conditions at approximately 18–27 °C, with high humidity and good air circulation. The coarse, airy aroid substrate should remain evenly lightly moist.

Description and Notes: Characteristic are long, glossy, and waxy-looking leaves. The ‘Guayzimi’ cultivar is grown with comparatively wider leaf blades. Short internodes ensure a relatively compact growth despite the long leaves.
