Description

Anthurium kunayalense

Name: Anthurium kunayalense Croat & Vannini

Etymology: The specific epithet kunayalense refers to the autonomous region of Guna Yala on the Caribbean coast of Panama.

First description: 2010 by Thomas B. Croat and J.P. Vannini.

Origin/Distribution: Panama.

Location/Habitat: Terrestrial in moist tropical forests at low altitudes. We cultivate the species in warm conditions at approximately 20–28 °C, high humidity, good air circulation, and bright to semi-shaded light.

Description and notes: Anthurium kunayalense has attractive velvety leaves and can vegetatively resemble Anthurium dressleri. A coarse, humus-rich, and well-aerated substrate with consistent moisture promotes vigorous growth.
