Description

Anthurium ivanportillae S

Name: Anthurium ivanportillae Croat

Etymology: The genus name Anthurium is derived from the Greek words anthos and oura. The specific epithet ivanportillae honors Ecuadorian plant collector and gardener Ivan Portilla.

First description: In 1998 by Thomas B. Croat.

Origin/Distribution: Ecuador.

Location/Habitat: From humid Andean forests. We grow this species in intermediate to warm conditions at around 18–27 °C, with high humidity and good air circulation. We keep the coarse, airy substrate consistently slightly moist.

Description and notes: Seedlings are offered; as they grow, they may differ in leaf size, shape, and patterning. Bright, indirect light and a well-ventilated root zone promote vigorous growth.
