Name: Anthurium forgetii N.E.Br. ‘White Stripes’
Etymology: The specific epithet forgetii honors the plant collector Louis Forget. ‘White Stripes’ refers to the particularly light-colored venation of this cultivar.
First described: 1906 by Nicholas Edward Brown.
Origin/distribution: Colombia.
Habitat: Terrestrial in moist tropical montane forest. We recommend warm to temperate conditions of approximately 18–27 °C, high humidity, good air circulation, and bright, filtered light.
Description and notes: Characteristic are velvety, rounded, heart-shaped leaves with a closed leaf base and no open sinus. In ‘White Stripes’, the light-colored venation stands out particularly clearly against the dark green leaf. As these are seedlings, leaf width and the intensity of the markings vary. Keep a loose, humus-rich, and at the same time very airy aroid substrate evenly slightly moist, but avoid waterlogging.
