Name: Anthurium forgetii N.E.Br.
Etymology: The specific epithet forgetii honors the plant collector Louis Forget.
First described: 1906 by Nicholas Edward Brown.
Origin/Distribution: Colombia.
Location/Habitat: The species grows terrestrially in moist tropical montane forest. We recommend warm to temperate conditions of approximately 18–27 °C, high humidity, good air circulation, and bright, filtered light.
Description and Notes: Characteristic are the velvety, dark green, rounded heart-shaped leaves, whose blade is closed at the base of the petiole and therefore does not show a typical open sinus. The light venation forms an attractive contrast. Keep a loose, humic, and at the same time very airy aroid substrate evenly lightly moist, but avoid waterlogging. Gradually acclimate young plants to stronger lighting.
