Description

Anthurium effusilobum

Name: Anthurium effusilobum Croat

Etymology: The specific epithet effusilobum refers to the spreading or irregular-looking leaf lobes.

Origin/Distribution: Ecuador and Peru.

Location/Habitat: Predominantly terrestrial in sheltered, shady, and moist locations in Andean forests. We grow this species under intermediate conditions at around 16–25 °C, with high humidity, good air circulation, and bright to partially shaded, indirect light.

Description and Notes: Anthurium effusilobum develops characteristically lobed leaves. On older plants, the petioles can turn an attractive reddish color. We keep a coarse, humus-rich, and well-aerated aroid substrate evenly and slightly moist.
