Description

Anthurium delannayi

Name: Anthurium delannayi Croat

Etymology: The specific epithet delannayi honors Xavier Delannay, who was involved in delineating this species.

First described: 2010 by Thomas B. Croat.

Origin/Distribution: Colombia.

Habitat: Epiphytic in warm, moist forests of the Pacific Andes. We cultivate the species in warm conditions at approximately 20–28 °C, with high humidity and good air circulation in coarse, airy substrate.

Description and notes: Anthurium delannayi can be confused with related species, but possesses its own distinctive leaf and inflorescence characteristics. Consistent warmth and humidity promote vigorous growth.
