Name: Anthurium decurrens Poepp. & Endl.
Etymology: The genus name Anthurium is derived from the Greek words for "flower" and "tail". The Latin specific epithet decurrens means "decurrent" or "running down".
First description: 1845 by Eduard Friedrich Poeppig and Stephan Ladislaus Endlicher.
Origin/Distribution: Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and northern Brazil.
Location/Habitat: Predominantly epiphytic in humid forests, from the lowlands up to medium altitudes of about 300–1,500 m. Suitable conditions are approximately 19–28 °C, high humidity, bright filtered light, and good air circulation.
Description and notes: This species forms elongated, lanceolate, shiny leaves with slightly wavy margins and a creeping stem, which has earned it the nickname "Walking Anthurium". A wide pot or a shallow mount provides space for the stem. We recommend a coarse, airy substrate and consistent moisture without waterlogging.
