Description

Anthurium Silver Streak

Name: Anthurium Silver Streak

Parents: Anthurium crystallinum × Anthurium forgetii

Breeding: Hybrid bred by Ecuagenera.

Etymology: The genus name Anthurium derives from the Greek words anthos (“flower”) and oura (“tail”). Silver Streak refers to the striking silvery veins on the leaves.

Location/Growing conditions: We grow this hybrid in bright to partially shaded conditions at around 18–27 °C, with high humidity and good air circulation. We keep a coarse, humus-rich, airy aroid mix evenly moist but never waterlogged. Bright, indirect light enhances the contrast of the leaf pattern.

Description and notes: Anthurium Silver Streak combines the velvety, dark green leaves with silvery veins of Anthurium crystallinum with the compact growth habit and distinctive leaf shape of Anthurium forgetii. The plants remain relatively compact, making them suitable for smaller collection areas as well. Leaf shape and vein intensity can vary among seedlings.
