Name: Anthurium Magnificent Silver
Parents: Anthurium magnificum × Anthurium forgetii
Breeding: Hybrid by Ecuagenera.
Etymology: The genus name Anthurium derives from the Greek words anthos (“flower”) and oura (“tail”). Magnificent Silver is the horticultural name of this cross and refers to the striking, light-colored venation of the leaves.
Location/Growing conditions: We grow this hybrid in bright to partial shade at around 18–27 °C, with high humidity and good air circulation. We keep a coarse, humus-rich, very airy aroid mix evenly slightly moist, without allowing it to become waterlogged. Bright, indirect light supports strong leaf markings.
Description and notes: Anthurium Magnificent Silver combines the vigorous growth and distinctive venation of Anthurium magnificum with the more compact growth and characteristic leaf shape of Anthurium forgetii. As a seedling hybrid, it exhibits natural variation in leaf shape, leaf size, and venation; in some plants, the closed leaf base of Anthurium forgetii is clearly visible.
