Name: Anthurium Happy Bunny
Parents: Anthurium pinkleyi × Anthurium luxurians
Cultivation: Hybrid by Ecuagenera.
Etymology: The genus name Anthurium is derived from the Greek words anthos ("flower") and oura ("tail"). Happy Bunny is the horticultural name for this hybrid.
Location/Cultivation Conditions: We grow the hybrid in warm conditions at around 20–28°C, with high humidity, good air circulation, and bright to partial shade, indirect light. We keep a coarse, airy aroid substrate consistently slightly moist and avoid waterlogging.
Description and Notes: Anthurium Happy Bunny is an unusual hybrid with bold, leathery, and distinctly textured leaves. The influence of Anthurium luxurians is particularly evident in the coarsely embossed leaf surface, while Anthurium pinkleyi may influence the shape and growth habit. The leaf shape can vary in seedlings from rather round to distinctly longer and pointed and may change as the plant matures.
