Name: Anthurium David Portilla Dreams ‘Inverse’
Parents: Anthurium luxurians × Anthurium forgetii
Cultivation: Hybrid by Ecuagenera.
Etymology: The genus name Anthurium derives from the Greek anthos (“flower”) and oura (“tail”). David Portilla Dreams is the horticultural name; ‘Inverse’ denotes the reverse parental direction compared to the corresponding reciprocal cross.
Location/Cultivation Conditions: We cultivate the hybrid in bright to partial shade at approximately 20–28 °C, with high humidity and good air circulation. We keep a coarse, humus-rich, and very airy aroid substrate evenly slightly moist and avoid waterlogging.
Description and Notes: Anthurium David Portilla Dreams ‘Inverse’ combines the highly textured leaf surface of Anthurium luxurians with the velvety appearance and subtle venation of Anthurium forgetii. The plants can grow relatively compactly. In seedlings, leaf texture, shape, and the expression of the sinus vary.
