Description

Phragmipedium Ingrid Suarez Ecuagenera is an impressive large-flowered hybrid that combines the finest characteristics of the two iconic species, Phragmipedium humboldtii and Phragmipedium kovachii. This hybrid is renowned for its vigorous growth, exceptionally large flowers, and robust growth habit, making it a highly desirable plant among orchid collectors.

Flower

The flowers are exceptionally large, typically measuring 15–20 cm (6–8 inches) in diameter under optimal growing conditions. Their color ranges from deep rose-pink to rich magenta with violet overtones, depending on the clone. The broad petals and the characteristic inflated pouch create a dramatic yet elegant appearance. Individual flowers are long-lasting and can remain attractive for several weeks.

Growth Habit

The plant develops a strong fan-shaped rosette of broad, light green leaves that can reach 40–60 cm (16–24 inches) in length. Over time, it produces multiple growths, eventually forming large, dense clumps. The root system is vigorous and performs best in an airy substrate that remains consistently moist. Like most Phragmipedium species and hybrids, it lacks pseudobulbs and therefore should never be allowed to dry out completely between waterings.
