Die Art bildet kompakte, zweiblättrige Pseudobulben aus und zeichnet sich durch im Verhältnis zur Pflanzengröße erstaunlich große, extrem wachsartige und langlebige Blüten aus. Die Blütenblätter besitzen eine olivgrüne bis gelblich-grüne Grundfarbe, die von dunklen, kastanienbraunen bis fast schwarzen Flecken überzogen ist. Einen spektakulären Kontrast dazu bildet die freiliegende, intensiv magenta- bis violettfarbene Lippe. Die Blüten duften zudem angenehm.
